About

Hi all!

I am a 30 year old male from Ontario, Canada, and I love television. I love watching it, talking about it, and reading about it.

This blog was created to talk about the change in the television business, with a particular view on how it effects Canadians.  Stories about changing technologies being used for internet viewing, as well as alternate modes of consumption (iPads etc) will also be discussed.

This blog was started when Joost was a thing of brilliance no one could stop talking about and Netflix was but a gleam in someone’s eye.  Today Joost is gone (practically) Microsoft owns Skype, Google Rules the mobile phone market, and Netflix accounts for nearly 30% of nightly internet traffic in the US.  The world is changing.

The blog will talk about people that are producing content online, and about how the internet is changing the very way content is produced.

I’ll also meander from time to time on other issues, political and otherwise.

I hope this blog will be a unique and credible voice.  I plan on including my opinion in my entries, but to always present the stories first in an unbiased way.  I also plan on crediting my sources so people can read more, and also so they know I am not just pulling these ‘facts and figures’ out of my ass.

I hope you enjoy the blog, and that you will read it often.

I also hope to get slashdotted one day… oh yes…  <<– Although I wrote that three years ago now… I still hold out hope :)

Hey there, I run Ubuntu linux, latest stable release.

How the heck do you get any CTV programs to work?

I load the page and the area where the video should load is blank and never shows anything, not loading, just empty.

This isent a new Ubuntu installation and any other video works, no problem, youtube, dailymotion, flash videos, you name, they all work just fine.

    Ctv doesnt!!!

    HELP !!!

P.S. you dont seem to have an email address on ur site so I thought I would post here.

    Cheers,

    ArghMonket

Might I suggest you also get rid of your Sympatico :) Call Teksavvy, their rates are better, their service is better and they allow for 300 gigs transfer / month or unlimited depending on your plan. I’ve had them since 2005.
